Mount Donation for Welzheim Observatory

After 25 years of operation with Baader domes.

Through a staff member of the observatory, the senior manager of Baader Planetarium learned that last year a Baader dome was donated to the Welzheim Observatory. Since the observatory is already equipped with three Baader domes, the company spontaneously decided to donate a tracking unit worth 4000 Euros for the fourth dome, enabling the astronomers to now operate the 140-mm wide-field refractor.

With this wide-field refractor, the specialists will be able to show visitors of the Welzheim Observatory large-scale structures such as star fields in the Milky Way. Baader Planetarium is distinguished by delivering high-quality astronomical observation technology to the most remote areas of the world, where the equipment continues to operate for years, sometimes under extreme climatic conditions.

For this reason, we are particularly pleased that this high-quality piece of technology is now being used in Welzheim,

Welzheim Observatory: 25th Anniversary

To celebrate its anniversary, the Welzheim Observatory has created an extensive brochure introducing the observatory's instrumentation and objectives. This detailed brochure (shortened for the web by removing the sections on the solar system) has been kindly made available to us. You can download the PDF here.
