In the meantime, we have converted the opening of the dome slit to a chain hoist, because pulling it open is laborious. Today, I would choose such a dome again, or would prefer an AllSky Dome, because astrophotography would be easier with it. However, the dome on the edge of the city does have its advantages in terms of protection from stray light.
