Observatory Bad Zwesten – Hardtwaldklinik

For over 30 years in weekly operation with two events. The optics and the tracking still sufficiently meet the requirements for presentation operation. Regardless of the weather, multimedia equipment and a Baader Planetarium are available.

The astronomers:
Lothar Scherp – since 1990
Arthur Battenberg – since 2009

Note from Baader Planetarium:

We are pleased that after more than 30 years this 5.3M dome is still in regular use and continues to give interested visitors a view of the sky. The design of the Baader 5.3 m Advanced slit dome has changed considerably in the meantime – with a wider slit opening, fully automatic remote operation, and an optional high-speed option for SLR / SSA / LaserCom.

Many thanks to Mr. Battenberg for the initiative of contacting us after all these years and for adding this beautiful dome with image and short statement to our website.
